Richwoods fire service started in 1875 and EMS services started in 1973, The Fire & EMS district was formed in 2000. The Northern Union County Fire And Emergency Medical Services, located in Richwood, OH, provides fire protection and emergency services to Richwood and the surrounding townships. The Fire Department's mission is to prevent the loss of life and property. In addition to responding to fires, the Northern Union County Fire And Emergency Medical Services also respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, rescue calls, and incidents involving hazardous materials. NUCFD responds on average to 800 calls per year. Our district is 73.9 square miles and has a population of 4700. We proudly serve the Village of Richwood, Claibourne Township, Jackson Township, and York Township.
